2026 Heat Pump and HVAC Rebates in Olympia, Tumwater, Lacey, Chehalis and Centralia
Homeowners in Olympia, Tumwater, Lacey, Chehalis and Centralia may qualify for rebates when installing an energy-efficient heat pump, smart thermostat or other qualifying home-comfort equipment. Rebate amounts and eligibility requirements vary by electric utility, existing heating system, equipment efficiency and available program funding.

Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey PSE Rebates
Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey are primarily served by Puget Sound Energy. PSE currently offers a $1,500 rebate when eligible homeowners replace electric resistance heating with a qualifying ducted or ductless air-source heat pump. An income-qualified Efficiency Boost rebate of $2,400 may also be available.
PSE also offers a $1,500 rebate for replacing an eligible existing heat pump with a qualifying high-efficiency heat pump. PSE does not currently publish a specific expiration date for these heat-pump rebates. The installation must be completed through a participating PSE Recommended Energy Professional or PSE Trade Ally.
Qualifying PSE smart thermostats must be purchased, installed and connected by December 31, 2026. The rebate application must be submitted within 60 days of the equipment purchase date.

Chehalis Lewis County PUD Rebates
Chehalis homeowners who receive electricity from Lewis County PUD may qualify for residential energy-efficiency rebates for ducted heat pumps, ductless heat pumps, heat-pump water heaters, insulation, windows and other qualifying improvements.
Lewis County PUD does not currently publish a specific calendar expiration date for its residential heat-pump rebates. Eligibility should be confirmed before equipment is purchased or installed, and the required heat-pump installation paperwork must be completed before a rebate can be issued.
For qualifying heat-pump water heaters, the completed rebate form and purchase receipt must be returned to Lewis County PUD within 90 days of the purchase date.

Centralia City Light Rebates
Centralia City Light currently offers a $920 rebate for eligible ductless heat-pump installations. A $140 rebate may also be available for qualifying smart thermostats. Heat-pump water-heater rebates currently range from $1,400 to $1,800, depending on the tank size and efficiency tier.
Centralia City Light does not list a specific calendar expiration date. The utility states that its conservation programs will remain in effect until they are no longer supported by the Bonneville Power Administration or until program funding is no longer available.
Some improvements must be inspected or approved before installation. Homeowners should contact the Centralia City Light Conservation Department before purchasing equipment or beginning any work.
